Cheesy Potato Casserole (Funeral Potatoes)

This recipe gets the name Funeral Potatoes from being served at almost always every funeral luncheon because they are easy to make, and can easily serve a crowd.


1 (32 ounce) package frozen shredded potatoes, thawed OR 4 lbs potatoes, cooked and shredded

2 (10 ounce) cans cream of chicken (or mushroom) soup

1 cup sour cream

2 1/2 cups cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons butter, melted

salt and pepper
1 1/2 cups corn flakes
2 tablespoons melted butter

  1. These were just nasty. I don’t know how because the ingredients sounded yummy to me, but none of us liked them. Not even me and I always give new recipes the benefit of the doubt.
