Million Dollar Layered Shortbread Bars

Look at the note at the bottom of the recipe: “These will last 4 days in the fridge.”  I don’t think these could last 4 days in ANY house.

Ingredients:

FOR THE SHORTBREAD:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1.25 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 12.5 oz all purpose flour (2.5 cups)
  • 1 extra large egg yolk, beaten

FOR THE DULCE DE LECHE:

  • 2 14oz cans sweetened condensed milk

FOR THE CHOCOLATE GLAZE:

  • 6 oz dark chocolate (70% cacao), chopped
  • 1 tsp light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into cubes
